Y24 Hand-Held Rock Drill
The Y24 is a pneumatic hand-held rock drill (jackhammer) for downward vertical drilling in medium to hard rock (f8–f18). It is used in open-pit mines, natural stone quarries, marble and granite quarries, infrastructure and construction works, and for foundry and industrial furnace cleaning. It works with air flushing and comes with the FY200B external line oiler, which lubricates the internal parts continuously for longer tool life and steady impact energy. SET Makina has been building rock drills since 1991, and the Y24 is available in two versions: TIGER (premium) and LIGER (economy).

What is the difference between TIGER Y24 and LIGER Y24?
Both have the same performance specifications. TIGER Y24 is the premium version: CE marked, supplied with a 6-month warranty, a spare parts kit for one year of use and a serial number registered to the buyer. LIGER Y24 is the economy version, sold at a lower price without warranty, spare parts kit or CE marking.
Which version should I choose for my site?
Choose TIGER for continuous production, export projects or any site where CE marking is required. LIGER suits short projects, small quarries and contractors working on a tight budget where CE marking is not required. When you request a quote we send the price and features of both.
What rock hardness can the Y24 drill?
The Y24 is designed for medium to hard rock with a hardness of f8 to f18 on the Protodyakonov scale.
What hole diameter does the Y24 drill?
The Y24 drills holes from 32 to 45 mm in diameter, using drill steels with a 22 × 108 mm shank.
What compressor do I need for the Y24?
The Y24 consumes 3.00 m³/min of air at a working pressure of 6 bar, through a 3/4" air inlet. Choose a compressor with some extra capacity to cover hose losses. The drill should work within a maximum distance of 100 m from the compressor; for longer distances you need a TIGER Air Receiver.
Does the Y24 use water flushing?
No. The Y24 works with air flushing for downward vertical drilling. If you need water flushing, the Y20, YT24 and YT28 models offer a water connection.
